Arkansas baseball beats Grambling State 14-3 in run rule

FAYETTEVILLE — The fourth-ranked Arkansas baseball team scored in every inning but the second and defeated Grambling State 14-3 in 7 innings Tuesday at Baum-Walker Stadium.

A 6-run fifth inning, capped by no-doubt home runs to left field by Ryder Helfrick and Justin Thomas, put the Razorbacks ahead 13-2. Helfrick’s 2-run homer was measured 426 feet. Two pitches later, Thomas hit a ball 417 feet.

Both home runs were against right-hander Landon Clampit, who inherited the bases loaded after Logan Maxwell singled, Brent Iredale walked, Kuhio Aloy singled and Rocco Peppi was hit by a pitch from right-hander Taylor Dooley to score Maxwell.
