Jeff Long will now serve on two college football committees with the announcement that he will be the SEC’s representative on the NCAA Division I Football Oversight Committee. The Arkansas athletic director is set to replace Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen.
Long will take over the role in June and was nominated by conference commissioner Greg Sankey, according to a release reported by WholeHogSports.com.
“Jeff demonstrated effective leadership as chair of the College Football Playoff Selection Committee and his football knowledge and experience make him ideal for service on the Division I Football Oversight Committee,” Sankey said in a statement.
