Arkansas men’s track head coach Chris Bucknam probably could not have asked for a better Saturday.
Watching the Razorbacks’ 89-79 basketball victory at 12th-ranked Kentucky from his home, Bucknam beamed about the performance of his athletes earlier in the day.
A few hours after Arkansas concluded a solid Day 2 showing at the Razorback Invitational, distance runner Patrick Kiprop smashed a program record with a time of 13 minutes, 11.67 seconds in the 5,000 meters in Boston.
Kiprop finished eighth and third among collegians in a crowded field at the Terrier Classic at the Track at New Balance.
