Allen measures small, practices well

At least on paper, Brandon Allen is not a professional quarterback.

The former Arkansas standout fell short of NFL standards during the weigh-in portion of the Senior Bowl Tuesday, but capped the day with a solid performance at practice.

"Based off eye test so far, Arkansas' Brandon Allen has best velocity of South QBs," tweeted Eric Galko, who leads The Sporting News' NFL Draft content. "Tight spin, plus-placement/velocity on slants."

However, with 8.5-inch hands and measuring only 6-feet, 1/4-inches tall, Allen will likely drop down some teams' draft boards. Typically, NFL quarterbacks have 9.5- to 10-inch hands.
