PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Jonas Aidoo could really think about only one thing after Arkansas’ upset of Kansas on Thursday night: getting back to the team hotel and going to bed.
That’s understandable after the big man played his best game of the year in a career-high 39 minutes to help the Razorbacks beat the Jayhawks 79-72 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at Amica Mutual Pavilion.
“I was definitely tired,” a relieved Aidoo said in the locker room afterward. “I can’t wait to go to sleep now. I can’t lie.”
Taking his recent stretch of solid play to another level, Aidoo said he felt like he was “getting lost in the game” and let his instincts take over — something he hadn’t been able to do until recently because of a lingering foot injury.
