FAYETTEVILLE — Two Arkansas players are among 10 players who are in the running for USA Softball national player of the year.
Shortstop Braxton Burnside and right-handed pitcher Mary Haff are among three sets of teammates on the list, along with Oklahoma’s Jocelyn Alo and Tiare Jennings, and Washington’s Gabbie Plain and Sis Bates.
Other players in the final 10 are Valerie Cagle of Clemson, Carrie Eberle of Oklahoma State, Rachel Garcia of UCLA and Kayla Kowalik of Kentucky.
The top three finalists for the award will be announced next week and a winner will be announced June 1 during the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.
