We're less than 24 hours out from National Signing Day, which means that head coach Bret Bielema and the Arkansas Razorbacks are tripling down on their recruiting efforts to finish off the 2016 cycle with a bang. With that in mind, we're here to provide the latest Arkansas recruiting news from the afternoon/evening of January 2nd.
Optimism About Cleveland
The Arkansas Razorbacks remain "cautiously optimistic" about their chances of landing four-star wide receiver/returner Tyrie Cleveland, according to 247Sports insider Otis Kirk.
Arkansas is in a dogfight for Cleveland's signature with Houston (currently committed), TCU, Florida and Texas A&M. Cleveland is currently listed as the #2 wide receiver and #33 overall player in the nation by 247Sports. More Arkansas football recruiting news inside our Chat Sports Android and iPhone apps!
Putu Looks Like A Get
Three-star cornerback Joseph Putu has told Florida's coaches that he plans to latch on with the Razorbacks at 11am on Wednesday, per Kirk. That's no surprise, considering that Putu has been leaning towards the Razorbacks for quite some time now.
Calvin Bundage Update
Three-star outside linebacker Calvin Bundage is trending towards Oklahoma State, and it seems unlikely that the Edmond (OK) product will be swayed away from the Cowboys before Signing Day.
Arkansas is still maintaining a relative level of optimism about being able to change Bundage's mind, but it appears they'd have to sweat out Oklahoma (the current projected runner-up) as well.
