Little Rock boosted its roster for future seasons with the signing of San Antonio native Rakiya Nelson, the program announced this morning. Nelson, a senior at Churchill High School, is the defending Defensive Player of the Year in District 28-6A, averaging more than two blocks per game. She has also scored more than 1,300 points in her high school career for head coach Jamie Grams.
"Rakiya showed up on our radar in June and when we got to see more and more tape and got to know her and her family, we felt we were a great match," Little Rock head coach Steve Wiedower said.
