NEW ORLEANS -- The UALR women's basketball team scratched its way to a second-place finish in the Sun Belt Conference with an unrelenting defense that often made up for a stagnant offense.
But suddenly, the Trojans are one victory away from returning to the NCAA Tournament because of a deliberate but effective offense that took hold in the second half of Friday's Sun Belt Tournament semifinal.
Shanity James scored 18 points, Kaitlyn Pratt had 13, and Alexius Dawn scored all 11 of her points in the second half of a 63-52 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette at Lakefront Arena.
