In a back-and-forth affair that saw a combined 28 hits, Arkansas-Little Rock survived to extend its winning streak to seven games with a 10-8 victory over Western Illinois in the opening game of a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series Thursday night at Gary Hogan Field in Little Rock.
Jackson Wells started the game for the Trojans and pitched five scoreless innings to record a quality start. The UALR bullpen struggled once Wells left the game after 91 pitches, but the strong offensive play continued for the Trojans just two days after defeating No. 11 Ole Miss on Tuesday in Oxford, Miss.
