UALR makes points

UALR Coach Chris Beard said this week that he thinks his team has a ways to go offensively, even though the program is in the midst of a school-best start to the season.

The Trojans took big steps toward that offensive goal Thursday night.

Roger Woods and Jalen Jackson each scored 16 points, and the Trojans coasted for much of an 81-55 victory over Appalachian State for a program-record ninth consecutive victory at the Jack Stephens Center.

UALR (15-1, 5-0 Sun Belt) entered the game with some of Division I basketball's best defensive marks but lacking in some offensive categories.
