The UALR women's basketball team once again made up for a lack of offense with its defense Saturday.
Shanity James scored 22 points to carry the Trojans, who had to hold off Georgia Southern after a second-quarter slide for a 50-45 victory at Hanner Fieldhouse in Statesboro, Ga.
Kailtyn Pratt added 10 points on 3-for-3 shooting for the Trojans (14-11, 12-4 Sun Belt), who won their ninth consecutive game. UALR committed a season-high 21 turnovers but held off Georgia Southern (7-18, 4-12) by making 12 of 15 free throws in the fourth quarter.
Georgia Southern, which has lost four in a row, was held to 37.
