In its first six games, the UALR women's basketball team has displayed enough ability to compete with the big-name opponents it has faced on its nonconference schedule.
Now, Coach Joe Foley said, the Trojans need to learn how to beat them.
UALR put a scare into No. 6 Texas for three quarters at the Jack Stephens Center on Sunday afternoon, but a 13-point third-quarter lead turned into a 66-56 loss when the Longhorns switched to a zone defense, as Foley had anticipated, and took control in front of an announced crowd of 1,642.
"Played as well as we could have played early, and about as bad as you can play late," Foley said.
