The UALR men's basketball team's loss in its regular-season finale Thursday night meant nothing with regard to its place in the Sun Belt Conference standings, but it could end up costing the Trojans quite a bit.
Two days after a home victory over Arkansas State, UALR struggled to make shots for much of Thursday, and then couldn't get a stop when it needed one in a 69-63 loss to Appalachian State in Boone, N.C.
It was just the Trojans' fourth loss of the season, but it will be looked on as the worst, if they end up needing an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.
