The UALR men's basketball team was enduring one of its worst halves of the season Thursday night when Coach Chris Beard gathered his team to make one last plea before halftime.
The Trojans trailed Georgia State 29-16 in Atlanta at the final media timeout of the half. The Panthers, the lowest scoring team in the Sun Belt Conference, had made 13 of their first 21 shots inside the GSU Sports Arena. Although just 3:49 remained before halftime, Beard thought it was enough time to get in a better position to make a second-half move.
"We just told them we need to try to win these last four minutes and make it more manageable," Beard said of the timeout.
