LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock led by 14 early in the second half, then withheld a furious Arkansas State rally to notch a hard-fought 90-87 victory at the Jack Stephens Center. Markquis Nowell's 24 points paved the way for the Trojans who remain in first place in the Sun Belt standings, improving to 12-2 in league play and 18-7 overall.
"This was a battle of two great teams this afternoon," said head coach Darrell Walker. "They made a great run in the second half, but I'm proud of my team for continuing to play tough and making key shots when they needed to.
