MOBILE, Ala.- Little Rock's bats went quiet and their pitching wasn't firing on all cylinders in their series opening 8-1 loss to South Alabama, Friday night in Mobile, Ala.
Little Rock falls to 21-23 (13-8 Sun Belt) while South Alabama improves to 23-22 (10-12 Sun Belt).
Chandler Fidel took the ball to start the contest and worked through five innings, allowing four earned runs and striking out nine hitters on the night. Fidel suffered his fourth loss of the season, falling to 5-4 overall.
South Alabama struck first with a solo home run in the opening frame to take an early 1-0 lead.
