SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Little Rock sophomore TaVieon Neal raced to a 10.53 time in the 100m dash late Wednesday, finishing 38th at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships held at Hornet Stadium.
Neal, who qualified for the second time but competed for only the first after an injury sidelined him last season, edged the Javin Bostic, the Mountain West 100m gold medalist out of Air Force, by one-hundredth of a second. It marks the fifth-fastest 100m dash time a Little Rock sprinter has ever recorded at the NCAA Prelims/Regional round.
Despite not advancing in the sprint, Neal's time in Sacramento isn't done yet.
