LITTLE ROCK – For his outstanding work on the field this season, Little Rock baseball's Ryan Scott has been named to 2016 Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List, USA Baseball announced Wednesday afternoon.
Scott is one of just 60 amateur baseball players in the United States to be named to the Midseason Watch List. The Golden Spikes Award is presented annually to the top amateur baseball player in the country.
Scott has been a force at the plate this season with the second-best batting average in the nation at .452. Scott ranks fourth in hits (64), fifth in total bases (102), 10th in on-base percentage, 14th in slugging (.
