LITTLE ROCK – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has announced Little Rock baseball's Ryan Scott as a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy. The award is given annually to the top player in collegiate baseball.
Scott has been on a tear with a .434 batting average, the second-best in the nation. Including batting average, Scott leads the Sun Belt in seven different offensive categories including runs (53), hits (86), RBIs (61), total bases (141), slugging percentage (.712) and on-base percentage (.515).
Scott was named to USA Baseball's Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List last month and was earlier today named a semifinalist for the 2016 Gregg Olson Award.
