CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Little Rock swim team ended the first day of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship on the campus of Southern Illinois with a new school record in the 800-yard free relay event.
The team of Tori Fryar, Emma Doll, Jinson Kang and Laura Ruiz Astorga came in with a time of 7:29.27, breaking the old school record of 7:37.20 set in the first day of last year's championship. Fryar, Doll and Kang were part of the old record with former Trojan swimmer Valeriya Teplova.
In the first of the two scheduled events for the day, the team of Shayna Underwood, Nuria Gallego Murcia, Courtney Coe and Courtney Goff took sixth in the 200-yard medley relay final with a time of 1:46.
