MAUMELLE – Shania Berger had a 10-stroke improvement between the first and second round of the Little Rock/Arkansas State Invitational at Maumelle Country Club on Monday, capping her day with a field-low, 3-under-par 69.
Berger began her day with a 79 in the first round, but the sophomore rebounded in the second round to become the only player in the 54-athlete field to post a sub-70 score on the day.
Berger's big improvement was a huge help in moving the Trojans up from sixth place to fifth place after the first day as its team stroke total improved from 317 to 298 in the second round.
