BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – After averaging 15 points and recording a league-best five blocks in a single game on Sunday, Little Rock forward Nikki Metcalfe was named the Ohio Valley Conference's Newcomer of the Week Tuesday morning.
Metcalfe reached double figures in both games for Little Rock last week but her performance in Sunday's 60-44 win over Arkansas State was as impressive as any Trojan has recorded this season. She scored a game-high 17 points in the game as Little Rock won its 18th consecutive home game against the rival Red Wolves and her five blocks in the game against ASU matches the most by any OVC player this year and is tied for fifth in school history.
