Wes Flanigan had had his introductory news conference and had already moved into the big office down the hall at the Jack Stephens Center in Little Rock.
But Flanigan's promotion to UALR head men's basketball coach didn't really sink in until he was at the Final Four last week in Houston.
"I was a little more popular than I was last year," Flanigan said Monday. "Some guys I knew, some guys I was supposed to know."
Flanigan was settled nicely into his new office before Monday night's celebration of the men's and women's basketball season put on by the school at the Stephens Center, when he discussed moving forward with filling out his first coaching staff and preparing for Wednesday's start of the spring signing period.
