DENVER -- As time ran out on the dream, Chris Beard took a deep breath and let it out heavily.
His No. 12 seed UALR Trojans fell to No. 4 seed Iowa State, 78-61, ending a record-setting season.
Beard needed more than a lucky necktie Saturday night as UALR ran into a terrible matchup. Like Purdue, who the Trojans beat here in the first round, Iowa State had a size advantage. But to go along with that, the Cyclones had athletic guards, played great defense, never quit and shot lights out.
The Cyclones hit 56 percent of their shots, including 52 percent of their threes, and for all but 33 seconds dominated inside and out on both ends of the court.
