LITTLE ROCK – Sara Claycomb placed ninth overall to lead the Trojan cross country team at the Little Rock Invitational at Rebsamen Golf Course on Saturday morning.
Claycomb's time on the 5K course was 19:36.8, 20 seconds faster than she performed at the Chile Pepper Festival two weeks ago. Claycomb was the third Trojan runner for the first half of the race, but she moved up throughout the five kilometers to finish in ninth overall.
Behind Claycomb was teammate Adela Hernandez, who ran her final Little Rock Invitational in a time of 20:01.
