LITTLE ROCK – After putting up the single best sprinting day in Little Rock track history on Friday, Anika Charles was honored by the Sun Belt Conference on Wednesday when the league named her its Female Track Student-Athlete of the Week.
Charles dashed her way to the top of the Trojan record book on Friday at the Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) Relays, setting new school records in the 100 and 200. Charles began her record-setting day by running the 100 in 11.71 seconds, .04 seconds faster than Pepper Foster's old school record that had stood since 2008.
