DUBAI – Former Trojan Matias Calderon earned a top-10 finish and was the leading amateur at the Shaikh Maktoum Dubai Open at Al Badia Golf Club. It was Calderons' second event on the MENA Tour.
Calderon placed seventh overall and was the top-finishing amateur. He recorded rounds of 73-68-70 to finish at 5 under par, three strokes back of the individual champion. He totaled 10 birdies in the tournament, including six in his second round.
"I'm very happy with the result," Calderon said. "To be able to win as an amateur and finish in the top 10 including professionals is a very positive result, especially being only my second tournament on the tour.
