I remember when I played football in high school and it was the middle of September. In South Georgia, it gets really hot and some of us on the team would pray that it would start to lightning just so practice would get cancelled. That was usually the best feeling in the world.
Yeah, we wanted to get better and prepare, but sometimes we just needed a break.
Sometimes, especially after a big win, our coach would be generous enough to let us have the next day of practice off. It was the best feeling in the world to know you could go home, watch TV, play the Xbox or just take a nap.
