Arizona State's Bobby Hurley and Arizona's Sean Miller will square off for the first time in Sunday's Pac-12 opener at Wells Fargo Arena, but that won't be the first time the coaches have shared the court.
In 1991, they were teammates in the World University Games in Sheffield, England.
According to CBS Sports Network analyst Pete Gillen -- who worked on P.J. Carlesimo's USA staff that summer -- Hurley (then at Duke) started and Miller (then at Pittsburgh) backed him up, but at times both point guards played together. And they performed well.
"Different personalities, but terrific college players,'' Gillen said this week.
