UA men's basketball flames out against Providence

FULLERTON, Calif. – Arizona’s defense was already on shaky ground this week when the Wildcats had center Kaleb Tarczewski clogging up the middle.

On Friday, a day after Arizona’s perimeter defense allowed Santa Clara’s Jared Brownridge 44 points, the Wildcats struggled both inside and out defensively while losing 69-65 to Providence in the semifinals of the Wooden Legacy at Titan Gym.

“We missed him and we’ll continue to miss him until he gets back,” UA coach Sean Miller said of Tarczewski, adding he wasn’t sure how long Tarczewski would be out except that it probably wouldn’t be long-term.
