The Basketball Gods just Shined on the Cavs newest player Derrick Williams

Former Arizona Basketball player Derrick Williams was released from the Miami Heat after appearing in 24 games just last week. It was announced today by Shams Charania of The Vertical that Williams just signed a 10-day contract with the NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers after clearing waivers on Wednesday.

The Heat released Williams to make room for a 2-year contract for Okaro White after attempting to trade Williams. Just as Hassan Whiteside and Tyler Johnson had done in 2014, White was elevated to the NBA from the D-League after playing with the Sioux Falls Skyforce who were last season’s NBA D-League Champions.
