Arizona football was thumped by USC 48-14 on Saturday for Family Weekend. What was expected to be an afternoon of joy with students and parents packed into Arizona Stadium like sardines turned out to be three hours of twiddling thumbs.
It was a tale of two entirely different teams coming into the contest, considering the Wildcats were still in the hunt for their first Pac-12 Conference win of the season while the Trojans were coming off back-to-back wins including a home win against Colorado last week.
The biggest difference between the programs after Saturday, however, was that USC found its quarterback in Sam Darnold who threw for 235 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions, while true freshman Khalil Tate struggled for Arizona.
