Everything between Arizona and Arizona State can be turned into a childish competition, so when UA beats ASU at something really dumb, it becomes really important. Today’s really dumb thing: license plate sales. The state of Arizona sells specialty plates for U of A, ASU and NAU, and guess what, the red and blue is the most popular by a decent amount. There are 24,000 registered plates out on the road representing the Block A, while there are just 18,000 Sun Devil ones out there. It’s not just school pride either. A percentage of the registration goes to scholarship funds, so Arizona fans and alums are doing more for their school than the other in-state schools
