UA athletic director Greg Byrne was impressed with the crowd in attendance for Saturday’s live broadcast of ESPN’s “College GameDay” on the UA mall but he wasn’t really surprised by the showing. Fans – mostly students – were lining up as early as last night to secure a good spot.
Byrne said sportscaster Samantha Ponder told him this was the biggest crowd the nationally broadcasted show has seen this season.
“That’s just a testament to our passion out here,” Byrne said.
