The July 1 deadline has passed for college baseball players to submit paperwork to enter the NCAA transfer portal in time to be eligible for next season. And though some more names could become official later on, Arizona now has a final tally of players from the 2021 squad who have done so.
All told, Arizona has 16 players in the portal, including 11 that were part of the Wildcats’ 27-man roster for the College World Series in Omaha.
One of the latest additions, outfielder Ryan Holgate, isn’t expected to return for next season due to the strong likelihood he will be picked in the 2021 MLB Draft that’s set for July 11-13.
