Pac-12 notebook: On poor scheduling, Harry Potter, rule changes

BURBANK, Calif. — Arizona isn’t the only team with a bone to pick with the Pac-12 in the scheduling department.

The Wildcats' complaint stems from a schedule that has them playing in 12 straight weeks without a bye — “Not happy about that,” Rich Rodriguez said Friday — until Thanksgiving weekend, when the UA would normally be playing in the Territorial Cup against Arizona State in the final regular season game for both of them.

Instead, this season California will be playing the Sun Devils that weekend, one typically reserved for rivalry games nationwide.

“Yeah, it is strange,” Dykes said at Pac-12 media day on the Warner Bros.
