Now eligible at Arizona, Jemarl Baker has to get up to speed

Jemarl Baker Jr. learned Thursday that he is eligible to play immediately for the Arizona Wildcats. Now it is a matter of getting him up to speed.

Arizona coach Sean Miller said the Kentucky transfer has missed half of Arizona’s practices this preseason, more than any other player on the team, due to a “hip problem.”

Therefore you shouldn’t look too much into his performance Friday when he had seven points and four assists on 2-of-7 shooting in 20 minutes in the 74-65 win over Chico State.

“He did a good job tonight, but that’s just kind of a small percentage of where I believe he’ll be as he gets more comfortable,” Miller said.
