Despite the 12th-ranked Ducks’ 2-0 loss to No. 7 Arizona Sunday, Oregon softball coach Melyssa Lombardi believes her team will host an NCAA Regional.
“I do,” Lombardi said. “We’ve been playing top teams all year long, we’ve been grinding in the Pac all year long against top opponents and beating each other up.”
The Ducks (33-15, 11-10 Pac-12) had lost 11 of their previous 15 games, including nine defeats to ranked opponents, before winning the first two games of the four-game series against the Wildcats (35-10, 11-8).
