TUCSON – Even as the Pac-12 losses piled, Arizona State held out hope. The Sun Devils told themselves that they had been a play or two short in most of their conference setbacks, that they were closer to a winning streak than bottoming out.
That changed here Wednesday night, ASU getting steamrolled in their worst loss of the season, 99-61 to an Arizona team that has found its gear at the best possible time.
In front of a lively McKale Center audience, ASU’s worst fears came true, its lack of size on display for all to see.
