ALBUQUERQUE – The Arizona Wildcats have parlayed big plays into a 28-17 lead over New Mexico at halftime of the New Mexico Bowl at University Stadium here.
Quarterback Anu Solomon, back in the lineup after missing the regular-season finale because of a concussion, has thrown two touchdown passes and run for a score. Tailback Jared Baker has the other Wildcats TD. Cayleb Jones is having a career game with four catches for 182 yards, including a 78-yard score.
Solomon’s 14-yard keeper bumped the lead to 21-10 with 3:27 left in the half. He connected with Trey Griffey for a 33-yard pass two plays earlier.
