Michigan State’s season-opening basketball game against Arizona on Veteran’s Day no longer will be played at Pearl Harbor, two years after the game was announced.
ESPN announced Thursday that the fifth-annual Armed Forces Classic on Nov. 11 has been moved 10 miles away to the University of Hawaii’s Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu. It was initially scheduled to be played in an aircraft hangar at the U.S. Navy’s Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu.
Clint Overby, vice president for ESPN Events, told the Free Press the Classic was moved to allow more fans, both military and civilians, to watch the two games.
