TUCSON — It was chilly, by Arizona standards, as players walked toward the field Monday for the first practice of the Kevin Sumlin era.
Players wore jerseys — white for defense, blue for offense, red for quarterbacks — with dark shorts and white helmets bearing the signature red, white and blue “A” on the sides. Their last names were printed on a strip of tape across the front.
Coaches and staffers wore some combination of red, white and blue sleeves, long pants and jackets.
One man, Sumlin, wore all red, save for a white visor and mirrored sunglasses.
