Arizona Director of Athletics Dave Heeke has a problem, and he needs to compel the leaders of his rising football team and juggernaut basketball program to change how they’re operating, or it’ll ruin his legacy before he has a chance to shape it.
This isn’t about sexual harassment. This isn’t about federal bribery scandals. This isn’t about a track coach assaulting a former student-athlete.
This is about how you handle things afterward. This is a call for stronger leadership and transparency so that Heeke can prove he’s shaping a program that properly represents the university and state as a place where people play by the rules and women – and men who seek to be allies – can study and work without fear of harassment.
