Zona Zealots brought you the great news that Los Angeles Lakers new head coach Luke Walton hired fellow Wildcat Jesse Mermuys as the Lakers Assistant Coach. Then we heard rumors Walton wanted to add his close friend and former Arizona teammate and now NBA Champion Richard Jefferson, but Jefferson decided not to retire.
Before Mermuys, Walton (Lakers 2003-2011) hired former Lakers Assistant coach Mark Madsen (Lakers 2000-2003) and former Denver Nuggets head coach Brian Shaw (Lakers 1999-2003). Shaw played in the NBA for 16 years.
That left a spot, and Lakers fans were wondering, who would Walton choose?
