Arizona Wildcats quarterback Khalil Tate was replaced at quarterback by true freshman Jamarye Joiner from Vail Cienega High School on Arizona's first possession of the second quarter Friday night in Salt Lake City.
On the Wildcats’ second possession, Chase Hansen sacked Tate, who came up limping, appearing to favor the left ankle that has bothered him for much of the season.
The Wildcats (3-3 overall, 2-1 Pac-12) were down 14-0 after the first quarter and trailed in time of possession 11:45 to 3:15. Utah had outgained Arizona 165 yards to 11.
Utah put together a pair of scoring drives, covering 75 and 69 yards.
