As expected, most of the discussion during Kevin Sumlin’s weekly news conference Monday centered around quarterbacks.
The Arizona Wildcats coach made one thing clear from the jump: Slumping senior Khalil Tate would remain the starter against Stanford.
But Sumlin’s larger point was that Arizona’s recent offensive struggles — including a season-low scoring output in a 41-14 loss at USC last week — weren’t limited to quarterback play.
“We had protection issues, we had some route issues, some blown assignments,” Sumlin said. “More than just the quarterbacks need to be addressed.
