News 4 Tucson (KVOA) proclaimed, “The Old Pueblo is officially a snow city!” According to the Charlotte Observer, Measurable snow has only fallen twice since weather records began in 1877. The first snowfall was recorded on January 15, 1932, and the second took place on January 9, 1949. In addition, a trace fell on two days in January 1962.
Here we are 57 years later and a full coat of snow fell all over Arizona. Tucson residents, and especially the Arizona Football team couldn’t have been more delighted.
An inch and a half of snow don’t seem like much to many on the East Coast, but for quite a few football players on campus, it was their first time seeing and playing in the snow.
