Hansen: It's likely to get sticky for UA defense

After Stanford football coach David Shaw completed a Q&A session with reporters late Saturday night, the Cardinal brought five players to an outdoor pavilion and made them available for interviews.

I stood next to Cardinal tailback Christian McCaffrey, who had abandoned his shoulder pads and jersey but was still in his white game pants.

I noticed that those white pants were mostly free of grass stains. A few yards away, Stanford linebacker Blake Martinez, who made 13 tackles, looked like he had been mud-wrestling.

Stanford plays on grass, not field turf. McCaffrey ran the ball 17 times, caught two passes, returned four punts and two kickoffs.
