Behind 182 receiving yards from Cayleb Jones and a characteristic performance by Scooby Wright III, Arizona football leads New Mexico 28-17 at halftime of the Gildan New Mexico Bowl.
Arizona quarterback Anu Solomon targeted Jones all half, including a 78-yard touchdown reception that put the Wildcats up 7-3 early in the first quarter.
Solomon, who appeared back to full health in the pocket, completed 10-18 attempts for 251 yards in the half. He also threw one interception.
A 23-yard rush from Jared Baker expanded the UA’s lead to 14-3 on the first play of the second quarter.
